Getting to meet your sports heroes never gets old. When I first met Randy Couture to discuss the making of his bobblehead, I was genuinely nervous! I have been watching Randy as a fan as long as I could remember, and to get a one on one meeting with him was almost too much for me to handle. Sometimes I can really geek out around these athletes, and this was no exception - meeting Randy! Ha! I really love a lot of things about Randy. His fighting style, his philanthropy, his work ethic, creativity...I can go on and on. So for me to make his bobblehead was a true honor. I'll never forget the day where I got a text from Dan Henderson saying "Bellator just released a Randy Couture bobblehead". I freaked out...I ran over to the computer to check out. To say that I was disappointed would be a BIGTIME understatement. I saw the bobblehead, and the first thing I thought was "WHY?!... Why did they even bother making this"? I mean, it looked nothing like him. NOTHING! I appreciated the fact that the promotion took some time to make the bobblehead, but I also wanted it to be done right. I wanted to give it a try. So after meeting with Randy and talking about the process, I was all set to go. I am extremely honored and excited to be launching the newest bobblehead of Randy Couture. I wanted to honor his legacy in the octagon, but also honor his service to our country.
Some of the highlights to this piece are...The American Flag and Natural Couture on his waistband, The veins in his head (hard to do), and of course his ears! One thing that I wanted to point out was the box design. It gives me great pride to have the opportunity to honor Randy's service to our Country. Randy was a member of the 101st Airborne division - The "Screaming Eagles". The 101st Airborne Division is an elite division in the U.S. Army with an almost 100 year old history. The members of the Screaming Eagles have been referred to as the "tip of the Spear". It brings me great joy to be able to announce this Randy Couture bobblehead on Veterans Day, 2019. I hope that you get to enjoy this piece for a long time to come.
